◊ About me ◊

Gonzalo Silva Corcelet

I’m a designer and illustrator specializing in bold visual narratives for music and fashion. My work aims to communicate empowerment and attitude through striking imagery. It speaks about me, but also about anyone so make yourself at home.

I challenge conventions through surrealism, self-love, resistance, and queer themes, creating pieces defined by conceptual and strategic thinking. I lean toward saturated color palettes, condensed typography, and shapes that convey attitude and sophistication.
Based in Montevideo, Uruguay, but constantly traveling, my practice is fueled by this need to connect with people and cultures worldwide.

Corcelet is my maternal grandfather’s surname, and we’re the last living family to carry it. That’s why I chose it as my artistic identity. But you can also call me Gonza.

I love working with fellow creatives, especially those with whom I can share and amplify our artistic visions and emotions. I work across disciplines, though my primary focus is illustration, branding, and editorial design.

Why Corcelet?
The surname holds significant personal meaning for me, as it represents a familial legacy that I am tasked with preserving. With my grandfather being the last male Corcelet alive, the responsibility to carry on the name falls upon me and my family.

With the aim of finding freedom from judgment or fear, I have adopted the Corcelet name as my artistic persona. This serves as a sanctuary where I can explore and express myself without inhibition. Despite only recently discovering its significance, the Corcelet name has become synonymous with a space of creativity and authenticity for me.

The logo is a refined lettering design crafted from my grandfather's signature found on my mother's birth certificate.
